New Year’s Eve Events in Bellingham
Bellingham’s most extravagant New Year’s event will take place at Sylvia Center for the Arts annual Soiree. Enjoy a night of live music, martinis, casino games, auctions, theater, ample appetizers from the Bellingham Cider Co, mysteries, and hijinks. The night begins with an additional three-course prix fixe meal with a choice of lamb chops or marinated mushrooms and plenty of drinks from Bellingham Cider Co (limited seating).

Swim Club is going back to 1968 for a night of swing and special hors d’oeuvres. The party starts at 9:00pm and runs into the new year. Buy one ticket for $20 or two for $30. A celebratory shot of champagne and all night treats are free with admission. Sign off your resolution in style!
It’s Y2K all over again, so surround yourself with your favorite childhood games and enjoy some fried food, for crying out loud! The 007 Goldeneye Tournament starts at 10:00pm and won’t end until there is a victor. Don’t miss the midnight toast with all your nerdy friends. An all-inclusive ticket is $20.
Not a party person? Sit back and enjoy a night of variety entertainment. The setlist is packed with ROCKSTA’s hip-hop, CEG’s jazz, DJ C-LeGs’s dance beats, SiNns’s pop rock, and comedy by Charlie Miller and James Myer. Guests 18+ are invited to dress up and arrive at 8:00pm to catch the whole show. Tickets are $20 on Brown Paper Tickets or $25 at the door.
New Year’s Day Events in Bellingham
There is nothing like a traditional polar bear plunge to send you invigorated with resolve into the next year.
In Scotland, the event is called the Loony Dook for reasons we can only imagine. At Birch Bay, the big plunge will happen at between 10:00am and 1:00pm, where the water is predicted to be around 40˚ F.
If you like a little walk or run before a good chill, come by Lake Padden at 11:00am. Participants are encouraged to wear the silliest costumes they can imagine before parading into the lake. Resolution walk or run around the 2.6 mile lake trail begins at 11:00, with the polar dip at noon. RSVP at the Facebook event for updates.
Visiting Bellingham during the transition from 2018 to 2019? Enjoy evening time around the outdoor firepit with new friends, and a solid post-celebration sleep at the Heliotrope Hotel. Book now as space is limited.
